Hello and Welcome to Dancing Light's website!

Portrait of Deborah

My name is Deborah, but around ten years ago, when I first started visiting Spirit consciously, as an adult, the name Dancing Light was given to me by Spirit. I've used that name ever since in my spiritual endeavors. It's such a sunny, positive name—for me, it's a constant reminder of the joy and beauty of Spirit. It's a matter of living up to the name, and making sure I share the blessings Spirit gives me. It's very important to me, as a psychic and spiritual medium, to honestly pass along the messages I receive from Spirit.

About Dancing Light

Apparently I have always been close to Spirit, but when I was small and didn't know any better than to talk about the experiences I had, people often responded in really negative ways. You know—your parents tell you you're imagining things, or you tell somebody that you dreamed this exact event the other night, and they back away from the little freak and pretend they didn't hear what you just said. So I closed my connection with Spirit, and didn't open it again until I was drawn irresistibly to online psychic sites. As soon as I explored all the information I found online, things started happening to me, and very soon after that I had my first conversation in many years with a spirit person.

I was pretty astonished to be talking to a dead person, and I have to admit that I took my time about believing that this experience was real. Could I actually be a medium? I set many tests for my first few spirit acquaintances, to make them demonstrate that they existed, and were separate from me. Sometimes I would challenge them to tell me something I didn't know, but that I could find out. Sometimes I requested that they tell me what was going to happen, but hadn't happened yet. Needless to say, they passed all my little tests.

One of the things that convinced me that these people were real was that they each had their own distinct personality and point of view. Each of them had concerns, things that were important to them, and things they weren't interested in. A particular spirit person would have a detailed discussion with me about one subject and then more or less yawn, tap their fingernails on the table and generally act bored when I tried to discuss another subject. To me that was convincing proof of their reality.

Spirit people who came to visit me were one thing: going out in Spirit and finding those who hadn't tried to contact me was another matter. So I started sitting down, doing a meditation, saying a prayer, then asking for a specific person. And you know what? Every one of them responded to my request for their presence.

Communicating with Spirit for myself alone was a challenge that Spirit answered in a big way, but I wasn't finished exploring. Next I had to find out if I could call on Spirit for others. I spent the next year doing free readings online for pretty much anybody who asked. Again, just about every dead person I asked for replied, and not only gave persuasive details about who they were, but also gave profoundly loving and insightful messages to the person who asked me to contact them.

I had to convince myself that I could reliably communicate with Spirit, and I wasn't convinced until I did it successfully over and over again. It wasn't until I knew I could honestly connect with Spirit in a deeply meaningful way that I started charging for readings.

As I developed my abilities on the Other Side, I met more and more spirit people who wanted to help me, or who needed my help for something. I learned to be cautious about both kinds of spirit people. Some of those who wanted to help me had their own agenda; some of those who needed my help had very questionable motives indeed. I learned never to visit the Other Side without first praying for divine protection, and then to ask each new spirit person I encountered for a blessing. Very simple: no blessing, no contact.

I've always been curious. When I met spirit people, I wanted to learn about them: what their lives were like over here, and even more, what it's like to live over there. Most of them let me question them closely, and write down the stories they told. My friends who are spirit have an awful lot to say to us over here on this side. That's what my book, Spirit Stories, is about.
